Kayla Grogg Meador
Founder and Therapist LICSW, PMH-C
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and approved LICSW clinical supervisor.
I have a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) and have completed a 40-hour Fellowship in Psychodynamic Therapy.
I am licensed to practice in West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina, and work with adults age 18+.
I am a psychodynamic therapist who integrates a variety of approaches, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and Relational Theories.
At the heart of my work is providing a space for connection and support—where humor, transparency, and being human come first. I value honesty in the therapy room and believe meaningful change happens when clients feel both deeply understood and gently challenged.
I feel incredibly grateful to be in this field and find deep meaning in supporting people who have rarely had space created for them—people pleasers, emotional caretakers, overachievers, perfectionists, and those who have been made to feel small in their environments.
My hope is to make life a little less hard by providing a space to talk about it, and an opportunity to be understood.
Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, burnout, loneliness, overwhelm, or harsh self-talk like “I’m not enough” or “I always say the wrong things” — therapy can be beneficial for you.
My work tends to involve addressing the symptoms happening for you right now, while also uncovering past experiences that may have contributed to how you’re feeling.
I have a special interest in supporting clients navigating complex family dynamics and relationships, as well as women in all stages of life, including pre- and post-motherhood. As a combat veteran, I am especially passionate about working with military members, veterans, and those connected to military life. I also bring lived experience to my work with individuals managing adult ADHD diagnoses.
I work with many therapists, helping professionals, and high-functioning individuals who are used to being the strong one, the helper, or the person others rely on. In therapy, there is space to step out of that role, explore your own needs, and be supported without having to perform, fix, or hold everything together.
I also work with individuals healing from emotionally manipulative or high-control relationships, helping clients untangle self-doubt, reconnect with their inner voice, and feel grounded in their sense of self again.
I know that seeking help can be a daunting process. If you found yourself here, know that you’re not alone, and I would be glad to be a part of your story.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy time with my husband, my daughter, and our Doberman, Roman. My interests include working out, attending WVU Football games, listening to all genres of music, watching movies, and writing (I will write that book someday).
Emily Poznanski
Clinical Therapist LPC, EMDR-Trained
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters of Arts in Counseling from West Virginia University and am a Nationally Certified Counselor.
I am licensed in West Virginia, and work with ages 16+.
Welcome! I am so glad that you are here. I am a therapist that utilizes a trauma-informed lens. I believe that as humans, we are able to grow and heal when we offer ourselves safety to feel, to be supported, and when we feel heard. This is at the heart of my practice- inviting a space that speaks safety and trust. Therapy is such a beautiful and vulnerable process that can sometimes feel like the water gets muddier before it looks clear. While growing and healing can at times feel uncomfortable, it offers us the reward of freedom, choice, compassion, and understanding.
Therapy is not about bringing “deficits” to light, but to heal the parts of ourselves that were developed to serve a purpose. Through therapy, we can build awareness of these parts and offer the safety and reassurance that they may have always desired.
My main approach that I utilize is EMDR. I believe that EMDR is an effective therapy modality that allows clients to untether to experiences that cause distress or disturbance. I also integrate other approaches such as Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and Humanistic approaches.
My approach to counseling is rooted in helping clients create an understanding through naming and understanding their experiences in a nonjudgemental way- providing a space to exist as you are. I am so grateful to be a part of your process and witness all of the amazing things you were also capable of.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my partner and the people in my life that make my heart feel warm. I have always LOVED spending time outdoors- reconnecting with nature, hiking, and breathing in fresh air. It is like a cozy hug for my nervous system. I also enjoy exploring new places, traveling the world, drinking delicious coffee, or a warm tea with honey.
Ashlee Parker
Clinical Therapist LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health. I believe therapy should feel real, supportive, and human. I bring a direct—but warm—approach to my work, valuing honesty and a kind of connection that makes hard conversations feel a little easier.
Therapy with me often includes laughter alongside depth, because healing doesn’t have to be stiff or overly clinical to be meaningful.
I am licensed in West Virginia and work with ages 16+.
I take a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach that invites clients to actively participate in their growth and healing. If you’re looking for a therapist who will be honest with you, sit with you in the hard moments, and help you find moments of lightness along the way, I would be honored to work with you.
I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, stress, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I also work with individuals recovering from coercive control or narcissistic abuse, helping clients rebuild trust in themselves and reconnect with their sense of clarity and agency.
Much of my work focuses on supporting professionals, emerging professionals, and students managing academic or career pressure, as well as individuals facing chronic mental health challenges or economic stressors. I am deeply committed to culturally responsive care and have a focused dedication to supporting BIPOC individuals, creating a therapeutic space that feels affirming, inclusive, and grounded in lived experience.
I completed my clinical residency in Atlanta, Georgia, where I collaborated with diverse professionals from around the world. This experience strengthened my ability to provide individualized, culturally informed care and reinforced my belief that effective therapy honors both cultural context and personal story.
Outside of the therapy room, I advocate for local animal rescues and shelters, am a devoted owner of two Rottweilers, and a proud parent of three children.
Music across all genres has also been meaningful to me—not just as enjoyment, but as a way to process emotions, create change, and feel connected. Much like therapy, I believe music can be a powerful tool for communication, healing, and growth.
My lived experiences continue to deepen my understanding of family dynamics, developmental stages, and life transitions, and often add humor and perspective to the work I do with clients.
