Welcome! I am so glad that you are here. I am a therapist that utilizes a trauma-informed lens. I believe that as humans, we are able to grow and heal when we offer ourselves safety to feel, to be supported, and when we feel heard. This is at the heart of my practice- inviting a space that speaks safety and trust. Therapy is such a beautiful and vulnerable process that can sometimes feel like the water gets muddier before it looks clear. While growing and healing can at times feel uncomfortable, it offers us the reward of freedom, choice, compassion, and understanding.
Therapy is not about bringing “deficits” to light, but to heal the parts of ourselves that were developed to serve a purpose. Through therapy, we can build awareness of these parts and offer the safety and reassurance that they may have always desired.
My main approach that I utilize is EMDR. I believe that EMDR is an effective therapy modality that allows clients to untether to experiences that cause distress or disturbance. I also integrate other approaches such as Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and Humanistic approaches.
My approach to counseling is rooted in helping clients create an understanding through naming and understanding their experiences in a nonjudgemental way- providing a space to exist as you are. I am so grateful to be a part of your process and witness all of the amazing things you were also capable of.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my partner and the people in my life that make my heart feel warm. I have always LOVED spending time outdoors- reconnecting with nature, hiking, and breathing in fresh air. It is like a cozy hug for my nervous system. I also enjoy exploring new places, traveling the world, drinking delicious coffee, or a warm tea with honey.
