Elizabeth Walling

Clinical Therapist | LGSW

I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker who works with adults ages 18 and older. My goal is to create a therapy space where you do not have to edit, explain, or minimize important parts of who you are in order to feel understood.

My approach is warm, relational, and collaborative. I believe that many of the ways we understand ourselves develop through our relationships and experiences. Therapy can provide an opportunity to explore those patterns with curiosity, better understand what may be keeping you stuck, and begin relating to yourself and others in ways that feel more authentic.

I enjoy working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. I am especially interested in supporting therapists, helping professionals, caregivers, and others who are accustomed to being the person everyone else relies on. When you spend much of your life caring for others, it can be difficult to recognize your own needs—or feel permitted to make room for them.

I provide LGBTQIA+-affirming and kink-affirming care and welcome clients who are polyamorous or practice other forms of consensual non-monogamy. I understand how important it is to have a therapist who does not automatically treat your identity, relationships, or sexuality as the source of a problem. When these parts of your life are relevant to therapy, we can explore them with respect, openness, and without judgment.

My work is grounded in relational and psychodynamic therapy, which allows us to explore how earlier experiences and relationships may influence what you are feeling today. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and solution-focused approaches to help you recognize unhelpful thought patterns, build practical skills, and identify changes that feel realistic and meaningful.

You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. Whether you feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or uncertain about what needs to change, therapy can be a place to slow down, feel supported, and begin understanding yourself more fully.

Elizabeth practices under clinical supervision while working toward independent clinical licensure in West Virginia.
